Rear Quarter Window Rubber Seal?

Post by mrmilkman »

Hi all, my first post here, this site rocks lots of info I'm glad I found it!
I have a broken rear quarter window on my Legacy (Liberty here in OZ!) and I have a replacement piece of glass, but I have no rubber seals or anything. I found a thread on replacing the glass, but there was no mention of rubber seals. Do you guys just glue it in without a seal? Does this create any problems? Or do I need to get my hands on a seal? If so any ideas where to get one?

Thanks

anyone have any idea? Can I just glue the glass straight in, or do I really need the rubber? Thanks

No one could help me here, but someone did on an Australian forum already. It was hard for me to find the answer so I will post what I was told to do:

they are glued in as such, take the black stuff off both the car and the glass, hed down to superchump and buy a tube of Sika flex 552 in black, bloody dear stuff but thats what is used to hold windscreens in!! dont used silicone, the window will prob fall out in 12 months time.

Yes, the rear quarter glass is installed using urethane.
