5 speed conversion
I have a 97 legacy gt and i was goin to do a 5 speed conversion on it and i found a complete kit on craigslist but it is off a 2.2 with everything bolt up to my 2.5?
Re: 5 speed conversion
There is no mounting differences between the 2.5 and 2.2. Anything that bolts up to a 2.2 will bolt up to a 2.5 and vica-versa.
All the differences, such as clutch types, starter motor mount, etc. all lie within the transmission side of the swap.

Re: 5 speed conversion
Negative. Your driveline which consists of your clutch, flywheel, transmission, axles, shift linkage, clutch linkage does not care what motor you mount it to.
So as long as you have everything in the drivetrain matched you can mate it to whatever EJ series motor you want to.
