hey there everyone,
so i just completed my 22t rebuild and 5mt swap on my 94 touring wagon. i keep running in to little issues...some are an easy fix...some not so much.
My main issue right now is this...i drove it for the first time the other day...every time i turned it off it started right back up. then i let it sit ove night and i come out to start it and nothing, it cranks and fires once or twice. so i run around town all day trying to get it a trip permit so i can tow it and by the time i get back it starts right up! WTF.
This same this happened that day...i drove it and it started every time after that....then it sat ove night and no start..
The difference is that this time i cant hear the fuel pump priming when i turn the key on. so i have a feeling its the fuel pump...but why would my fuel pump work every time then after it sits not work?
UPDATE: So after a couples days of checking things over, I found out that I am not getting spark to the plugs. I tried two other ICMs so i dont think thats the problem. But when i checked for spark one of the wires would spark once then stop. I tested the ICM plug in and the two wires that are supposed to get voltage gaiin voltage when i crank the engine....anyone have ideas?
If you live in portland maybe we can meet up and you can help me out. Thanks everyone.

Re: COLD START PROBLEM!
What was the ambient temperature when you tried to start it in the morning? I'd suspect either coolant temp sensor, or as you have suspected a fuel pump. Try to keep an ear for the fuel pump as well as note the ambient temperature.

Re: COLD START PROBLEM!
yeah the fuel pump was priming...then it wasnt, and this morining i put a different one in from the yard and it primed when i turned the key on but it still wouldnt start...is the coolant temp sensor on that metal coolant line under the intake mani?

Yes, it's the one with the brown plastic connector.

Re: COLD START PROBLEM! + Pictures
yeah everything is connected...today i was trying to start it and it would fire a couple times like it wanted to start but wouldnt go. i even put in a different fuel pump that i tested before putting in...i dont know what else to do.
Re: COLD START PROBLEM! + Pictures
I'd try replacing the coolant temp sensor. It's about a $20 part, and if it's bad or acting funny, it can give you a lot of problems.
