no the AFC is a fuel controller, the AVC is a valve (boost solenoid)
controller... two different animals.
next problem, i turned up my boost again since i have the controller in and
i was on the highway and hit 13(aprox) PSI and wack! hit the boost cut...
woke up my girlfriend.. i thought when it was in i was not going to have the
fuel cut anymore... or is it in the settings that takes care of that and just
having it does nothing...
i got my S-AFC used from a guy in california in www.thepartstrader.com
they retail for $380, i got mine including shipping for $250. just do a
search for APEXi, and you will find lots for 200 or more, or if you are ok
with a first generation, they can be had for $150. i have seen them on ebay
too for around $250 as well.

setting up apexi S-AFC
To remove fuel cut you can add bigger injectors and then lean them out with
the sAFC. That's really what its for. Most of the DSM guys do this for two
reasons: 1) increase boost/fuel cut threshold and 2) get a better timing
curve (only 95+ models).
If your stock injectors are say 450cc/min and you upgrade to 550cc/min, you
then lean it out with the sAFC. That will make the computer think that
there is less air going into the engine, even though there is more. You
have the correct amount of fuel because of the 550cc injectors. SO since
the computer thinks there's less air, you can effectively raise you boost
over 1bar <if you have the supporting mods> with out fuel cut.
If you want even more in depth info on this lemme know and I can provide
some info intensive links.

Gary
