Decided to shoot some buddies cars

Post by TooSlo »

Thankfully it was with a camera! (zing)

Fought all night with trying to successfully light my friend's '08 STi, so we decided to try some super long exposures and throw them together in an HRD compiler. Sadly it kinda mucked up a couple shots even with optimization and being on a non-moving tripod. Hopefully you guys enjoy, I plan on doing a little more in the future in Seattle, WA. Hoping to get some REAL HDR shots that aren't relying on 20-30 second exposures.

The cars are an '08 STi. Currently it's your basic Perrin stage 2 and a heck of a lot of fun to drive. (It's actually rocking a stealth FMIC, can't even see it for the most part

Silver '05 STi is a different beast altogether. Just rebuilt from the ground up with a special mix and sporting an FP Green and a few other goodies. Hasn't been fully tuned yet and is running disgustingly rich. Should dyno ~415-425 to the ground after the motor is properly broken in.

I like the shots with both cars. On the topic of shooting buddies cars, some friends of mine once shot an old Subaru GL hatch through the door with a shotgun slug. That car didn't have much life left anyway.

Try turning your ISO setting down a bit. That will help get rid of the noise.

Oh man. Recently I shot a washing machine through the center with a slug. Put a perfectly round hole in the front about 1 inch in diameter and went through the part in the middle that spins the laundry (shattered the whole thing) and out the back with a much larger less round hole. Then we shot it a bunch more times with BB shot, bird shot, slugs and then blew the washing machine to pieces. It was fun. Only thing still there was the motor sitting on the ground.
