swaping interior from 2 genaration to 1 genaration

Just was wondering if anyboby has ever tired to put the interior from a second genaration legacy gt into the frist genaration? I have goten lather seat to fit in my frist genaration from a second genaration but know if i can make the rest work. Such as the dash,door panels, and center consoled.

I don't know of anyone who has done it. As you noticed, the seats (both front and rear) are interchangeable.

The dimensions of the interior parts (such as the door cars, etc) are not the same so you'd most likely have to do a lot of customization and fabrication.

This is just an educated guess based on other Subarus.....

The dash and consoles will swap over pretty trouble-free, but the door panels will be a no-go based on size and mounting locations. remember that the dash swap will also be a HVAC swap too. That might involve firewall work.

So, for me, if the door panels won't go.....why bother with the dash, it won't match.

Also, keep in mind that if you attempt it- you will basically also be doing a complete harness swap because the dash harness is the hub of the whole car.
