The clutch fork from the new (to me) trans is made of cast metal with one hole on top, and the one from my 93 is is made ofa stamped sort of metal with a few holes on the top where it sticks out of the case. Another difference is the new trans uses a dowel pin and screw in plug as a pivot point, where the 93 trans that came out of the car uses a spring clip and ball as a pivot point.
I need to do something, as my old trans has serious synchro issues, and will no longer stay in 4th gear. Can I split the cases, and inspect and swap over all the gearing and run it that way? Is one trans a cable type (assuming the n/a trans would be this type, since I removed CABLES to get the trans out) and the other a hydroulic type?
Please help, I need to drive this car accross the country next month and would like to complete this asap.
