Conn Rod Bushings?

Post by magicmike »

My machinest told me that I need new conn rod bushings. When I was at the dealer buying all the other junk that I needed I inquired about the bushings. They did not show this part as a "sold seperately" item. It basically came on the Conn Rod. Now My machinest is trying to find something to fit elswhere but is having trouble. Apparently it is a steel bushing with a copper coating. So, does anybody know where I can get some damn connecting rod bushings!!!

Thanks,

Mike

My book shows it as part of the rod. What happened to the engine that it needs bushings? I have never seen a bad one. It gives the clearance limit at.030mm or .012".

um, he told me that they are within subaru specs, but he normally likes to see them tighter. or something like that. In his expert opinion they were too worm. I will ask him what the gap is again.

Thanks,

Mike
