Code 13

Post by Danny-G »

Is it safe to run the car with the code coming up or will something bad happen? I did a search and found some posts saying the cam anrle sensor controls the ignition timing, is this true?

If the car is running ok with the code 13, it's not a big deal.

Did this code come up when you ran the read mode connector, or is the CEL on all the time?

The car ran fine unless I really got on it with hard acceleration, then it would "buck" but it was fine on slower acceleration. I wiped all the grime and stuff off the sensor and took a short test drive afterwards and the CEL was off almost the whole time minus one stop where it came on then went out when I took off( with "bucking"). Since cleaning the sensor everything has been just fine other than a 45 to 60 pull where it "bucked" a few times then the "bucking" stopped all together, I checked for "bucking" by going WOT from a stop and there was nothing out of the ordinary. So it seems, to me, that cleaning the grime off the sensor fixed it.

Hmm....well I would just keep an eye on it and look into it further if it continues.

Yeah I'm keeping an eye out for the CEL and if it comes back I'll just go with a new sensor from subaru. But for now I'm glad its fixed and running right.
