How easy is it to put the bosch BOV on the legacy
turbo? A bit of fabrication? Or simple bolt on. I am
looking for a simple bolt on, since I suspect my BOV
is leaking.

to fit the Bosch BOV onto a stock intake you will need to go up to a 1"
fitting, make a 90 degree bend, then go back down to the stock .75 hose dia.
It is not that hard with some forethought, and then a trip to the hardware
store. This valve works much better than the stock valve and is cheaper,it
also will not leak at low boost levels,so for a DIY type person it would be
well worth it.This valve flows much better than stock,so it doesn't make
"better noise" in fact it makes almost no noise at all.It looks like it
would be hard to adapt to a WRX type intercooler though, because of the 90
degree bend. Please let me know if anyone needs the Porsche part# BillC

Ben, the Porsche part # is P993-110-337-50.My local Porsche dealer charged
31.06$ for the part, and they had one in stock. If yo want to see a picture of
one,go to the Turbonetics web site. They sell them too.My reason for using
this particular valve was mainly price, although I have read that it is a
very good unit, and my stock valve was leaking badly. It sure works good for
me.If I am not mistaken you have a WRX intercooler,I have seen pictures of
your engine and I think. This particular valve might be difficult to install
on your rig because this unit flows at a 90 degree angle.I am sorry but I
cannot post pictures at this time.I have no digital camera or scanner. In the
near future I am going to shoot some pictures of some of the more
interesting custom mods on my Legacy and get them developed onto a disk so I
can upload them to the files section, and hopefully to DaveC's site too.
