Knocking

Hi...
Has anyone heard knocking from their engine compartment while the engine is
idling after a hard run? It doesnt happen any other time.

I know Roy has as well.

I get a knocking most of the time, but i'm hoping it's something to
do with the wasser pump or the timing belt, which i'm getting changed
hopefully this friday.

These engines are super-strong, so i can't imagine a bearing going
out.

Actually.. what does knocking sound like.. i always hear this little
tick tick sound at idling speed or 2000-3000rpm.. but its really
small.. i am not sure if its knocking or just the hydrailic valve
tappet or something..

this is most noticable when engine is cold..

To me it sounds hollow to me, not a ticking sound.

The sound that comes from my car is more like a valve
clicking/tapping sound especially when cold or idling. I know its not
that as the sound comes from the vacinity of the turbo housing, but
I'm not sure where exactly its coming from. I tried to see if its a
loose heat shield but haven't been able to verify that yet.
I just don't want it to turbo bearings ($2500 bill).
