91 Legacy Steering Knuckle/Wheel Bearing

Post by sirith »

I have a 91 Legacy with a bad Wheel Bearing and I asked someone I knew with a press to try and get the bearing out but the way it came apart looks like no image I have seen of a Legacy Wheel Bearing. I cleaned up the Steering knuckle and it looks like there is a part of the wheel bearing still inside of it. Is it still possible to remove it or do I have to get a new steering knuckle?

Welcome to the BBS.

Typically when the wheel bearings come apart they'll come apart in two pieces. It sounds like the outer portion of the bearing race may still be stuck in the knuckle. You'll likely just have to bang on that outer race with chisels & hammers or something to get it out.
