Value of EJ22T?

Post by cj7135 »

Hi all,

I have a 97 Legacy wagon that we swapped an EJ22T into from a 92 Turbo Wagon. Unfortunately, some meatstick in a truck in front of me didn't know how to drive standard and rolled backward into me totaling the frame.

The engine is (hopefully) undamaged, but I'm wondering what it's worth to somebody that would be looking for one.. I might keep it myself, but if it's worth more in cash i might just sell it. It's got 250,000km on it (that's 150,000 miles), and the exhaust isn't good really.

So what would you guys pay for an EJ22T with that many miles if you were looking for one? I have the ECU and harness, and it runs like new.

Thanks

I've seen them go for a couple hundred bucks, $700-$1,000.

I've seen them go for what josh said, and I've bought a couple for less than that, but they "needed work." His figures are prob spot on for a good running, non leaking complete motor with accessories and wiring.

I'd agree with that price range although I did buy one for $350 a while back. Ended up selling the block alone for $300 and I've also seen just the case halves sell for $500+.

When you say the exhaust is no good, does that mean the crunch was so bad that it hit the header/up pipe?
