Problems with connection
Im having problems with connection on two tires that are on the biggest harness that connects to the ECU. I believe the two wires are for the fuel injectors ( the are thick yellow wires) if i touch the wires the misfire will go away. but it i let go it comes back. i tryed removing and cleaning the pin and harness. i put some electrical grease on it. i dont know what to do
Re: Problems with connection
Can you identify which pin they are on the ECU connector?

Re: Problems with connection
Those are the grounds for the ECU injector drivers. If they're not getting good connection, yes it would be causing misfires and such

Re: Problems with connection
the problem is i dont know why, only happen once i installed the EJ20G ECU, i tried cleaning the connectors and everything. not sure what to do?? i tierapped the wires and the misfire goes away temporarily. but its just a temp fix, it comes back with the slightest bumps in the road
Re: Problems with connection
My thought would be that the solder joint on those pins is cracked. Putting slight pressure on them keeps the pin in contact with the solder, but when you hit a bump, the pin moves and you lose connection.
Does it happen with the ej22t ECU?
If you know how to solder you could open up the ECU and check the solder joints. If you're not that comfortable soldering, I'd suggest maybe investigating and confirming that is the problem and take it to an eletronics shop to make those solder joints.

Re: Problems with connection
It never happened before, only after i put the new ECU in. Im going to take the pins out and look at them again. i hope that fixes it
Re: Problems with connection
The problem is not the pins on the ECU chassis wiring connector. The problem is inside the EJ20G ECU.
This thread has some pictures and more info on a similar problem with the HVAC controller.
