riddle me this

Post by __TT__ »

So in my infinite wisdom. I've decided to build a little switch panel for misc things. (ILL POST PICS LATER). ANYWAY one of the switches is to the power supply to the edu due to the amount of relearns I have had to do. So I switched it off and forgot about it then got in the car and it starts and drives. So how can the sucker run with out the power to the ecu

There is both a striaght to the battery power for backup memory, and a Switched ignition key power input.

It's been a while since I looked at the diagrams, but I seem to recall that there might also be power feeds on multiple pins (for amperage capacity).

The backup power supply that I believe you tapped into for the ECU memory has no impact on the main ECU power supply. The ECU will start and run with the backup power supply disconnected.
