this cant be good....

Post by speedmaxx »

so the strangest thing has happened. I went to school today all was well with my legacy. I went to leave and as soon as I pulled out my car felt like it was in power mode shifting hard. so I hit my power mode button and nothing is happening, its just not illuminating on the dash. yet it feels like my car is stuck in power mode.

so I figure hmmm let me try something, at about 40 mph just curzing I decide to floor it figuring it would drop to second. but no nothing she goes to third and holds it. then I try the same up at about 70mph, as soon as I floor it hessitates to downshift to 4th. instead it stays in tc lock up. also my power mode light will not come on nomatter what, just on start up and thats it.

what the hell is going on with my trans?? all was going perfect with it. how does this happen all of a sudden. I feel like this has nothing to do with the trans but more so an electrical connection.

any idea's?

alothough I did just notice my negative cable was kind of lose so im gonna have to replace that. although I did tighten it up and no go still the same.

Are you referring to the power mode or the manual mode? There is no power button standard on the US Legacies, only a manual button. Is it green or orange?

Does the green power light come on solid at startup and then goes off? Or does it blink?

Was the manual button depressed when you were cruising and then floored it?

Sorry to hi jack the thread but what does it mean if it's blinking?

I believe its a code. a certain amount of blinks correlates to what code it is.

i could be wrong.
dont think so tho

Yes, if it's blinking, it means there's a code stored. Here's info on how to pull the trans codes
