custom-ish exhaust ?'s

Post by Mt.HOODrat »

cops in my town have been cracking down on modified exhaust lately, which is not a problem if you can take your foot out of it when you see the 5-0. unless of course you have a huge fart can poking out of your bumper.

i really want the performance, sound and flow of a 3'' tbe, but id like to keep it looking stealth.

if i do a bellmouth catless 3'' downpipe, and a 3'' midpipe all the way back to a wrx axle back, (mostly for looks) would it still sound nice, loud and aggressive?

how would it compare power wise to a 3'' straight pipe?

is the stock wrx muffler that restrictive if ran with a 3'' dp and 3'' midpipe with no cats?

anyone have this type of setup?

deq is not an issue btw

I have that exact setup. The WRX Axleback will not make much noise at all. However, the turbo sounds great when you can really hear it.

However, i also believe i have formed a little back pressure, or theres more lag on my vf 39

Adding a resonator will help quiet the sound, but still give you a good sounding exhaust note. Couple that with a performance muffler and a less noticable tip, and you should be good to go.
