Hey ... Making progress on the motor swap, but ....
We were putting on a new water pump. The specs call for 7-10 Ft-Lbs. My torqe wrench like most is not goiod at that low of level. I guess we actually got them to closer to 20ft-lbs ish. Is that a problem in your experiances? 10 Ft-lbs seem to small, but ... OK please help and let me know if I really need to spend $100 for a real good torque wrench to get to 10 ft-lbs acurately.
Thanks

Just use a 1/4" rachet with 10mm socket and tighten things snugly, but not too tight.

Re: 93 Legacy Wagon non turbo engine Water pump question
I used my small torque wrench that is in inch pounds. I put a little bit of blue locktight on them and torqued to 10 foot pounds (120 inch pounds).

Re: 93 Legacy Wagon non turbo engine Water pump question
So do you really think it was bad that we tightened them down to 20-30osh lb ft? I guess I could go return the sears Torque wrench which read 10-70 ft-lb for the smaller one that reads in in-lbs.
So last question. If I loosen up the bolts, then did I mess up the gaskets and need a nother new gasket or did I mess anything else up? If I leave it alone and they are overtorqued (but even) is that all that bad? I kind of want to just run with it, because the t-belt is on and it is buttoned up. The motor is not in yet, but tearing it down again and that damn t-belt tensioner is a pain.
Thanks

You'll probably be ok to leave them.
