I am on a rally team and we are using a 91 turbo legacy. Recently we got our engine "running" again but noticed that when we tip in the throttle (at idle, the car is still getting the cage installed) the engine stumbles and stalls. Our initial guess is that we still have some vacuum leaks/sensors not installed.
One of the many issues we found is that on the pass side of the engine compartment near the turbo/firewall there are 3 sensor connectors that we don't have hooked up. We believe one of these (smaller two wire connector) is the ABS sensor. Could you tell me what the other two are for?
Would this cause our issue? We also are setting a code 45 but that's because we don't have stock boost control system hooked up and i will be doing some searches on what I need to do to run a boost controler on that.

Where exactly are these connectors located? in the engine bay?
Code 45 is for the pressure (map) sensor & pressure exchange solenoid. You need to have these hooked up or the ECU will not run correctly. These are different then the wastegate solenoid (boost control solenoid). I would recommend hooking up all the boost control sensors, MAP sensor, pressure exchange solenoid, and wastegate solenoid. If you want to run a manual boost controller or aftermarket electronic boost controller you can do that, but leave the wastegate controller plugged in so you don't get any codes and the ECU will be happy.
Yeah, i just spent a couple hours searching around. Looks like i didn't have the map sensor/pressure exchange solenoid hooked up (we were assuming they were evap stuff). I am sure that will explain the tip in hesitation issue. Looks like i should also get a MBC, cap off the boost control solenoid, but leave it plugged in.
I am still unsure what those three connectors are for. All three are kind of close and are in the engine bay near the turbo/strut tower. That aluminum pipe/silicone pipe that you can see in the first pic is where the stock intake resonator was (the other two connectos are closer to the firewall). Initially i thought one might be for the 02 sensor but its already plugged in. (Not sure if this gives you a idea of where they are)
Update: We hooked the pressure sensor/boost control selenoid/pressure exchange solenoid and the car seems to be running better. Still not sure what those 3 connectors are for though.
It's hard to say for sure, but I do think you're right that that 2-pin connector is for the ABS G-sensor. That sensor (which is only an manual-transmission cars) is mounted on the passenger-side frame rail kind of below the air conditioning receiver/drier and cruise control vacuum pump.
Huh. Did you remove a bunch of stuff from that car? Cuz, now that I think about it, that gray 4-pin connector looks like it might be or the cruise pump, and the other might be the connector for the ternary pressure switch mounted on the receiver/drier.

Yeah i am pretty sure the 2 pin sensor is the ABS as well (its a manual).
We did remove some stuff from the car (incuding cruise) so that grey 4-pin connector might be for the cruise pump. I honestly have no idea what a reciever/drier...Where is this? What does it do?
The receiver/drier is just part of the air conditioning system. It's not electric or electronic at all; it just has a pressure switch that's threaded into it. The A/C has been torn out of this car anyway, so just ignore that connector.
