Swap question

I've been through the swap process once already with my '91 L. I'm thinking of selling it to build my '93 TW. I've got my eye on a '94 JDM STi swap. Would it basically be as simple as tossing my '93 22T engine harness on the '94 STi and firing it up? I know what needs to happen for the AT to MT.
This is what I'm looking at...

Most likely, no it will not be that simple. You would want to likely run the EJ20 ECU. If you do that you would have to address the coil on plug difference and add wiring and ignitor for the four channel setup. There may also be some other wiring differences, but it's workable. Not sure if that answers your question. Yes it can be swapped into your TW, but it's not really plug & play.

In the photos on the ebay link, the engine appears to be running wasted spark ignition with a diamond coilpack ontop of the intake. My '89 EJ20G was COP and I swapped my '91 NA harness and it runs fine on the 22T ecu wasted spark.

I did not see that....good eye.

Well in that case, all you would likely need to do is verify the wiring. I would still recommend running the EJ20 ECU since it is matched up to the injectors. Running the ej22t ECU would work ok, but assuming the EJ20 has 440 cc/min injectors, the engine will run rich with the stock ej22t ECU.

I don't see that this one comes with an ECU or any wiring. I still have my '89 20G ECU, but have no idea if that would treat this thing right. I've been studying your AT to MT write up. Any differences that you may be aware of between '90 NA and '93 TW wiring? I'm no wire master, but it seems straightforward enough. This wagon will have a manual regardless of which engine ends up in there.

There may be some differences in the wiring, maybe wire colors, but the overall components/wiring that need to be modified should be the same. The big difference as we found out is the cruise.

You can d/l the 92 FSM which has wiring diagrams that will be close if not dead on for your 93.

I'd suggest starting a new thread and try and provide us with some more details on your plan, wiring, engine management, etc.

That will help in being able to provide you with some better feedback.
