Door adjustment.

Post by Danny-G »

I gotta adjust my drivers door so I can open it without punching it. Anyone got any tips on adjusting the catch or hinges?

Is it sagging? About the only thing you can do is loosen the main door hinges and adjust accordingly. You may need to take off the fender to access the hinge bolts and adjust properly.

Yeah its sagging. I can move the door up and down a bit and it makes a bit of a thunking when I lift up on it. Would I be able to do anything with the hinges when the door is closed or does it have to be open?

If the door moves up and down, the hinges or the mounting points inside the door itself are probably worn. Your best bet is probably to inspect, tighten the bolts holding the hinges to the door & chassis (if they're loose) or replace the hinges.

Well, no adjustment have been made. The snow from Alaska made its way here and I don't really wanna stand outside messing with the door when its right around freezing.
