work a wrecking yard, when i tore down a turbo wagon, the torque converter was "taller" than one on a non turbo. any significant difference as far the manual transmissions go?

The autos had a bigger converter on the turbo's. I believe the stick shifts had stronger gears and were a push/pull type clutch (its one or the other I forgot).

The main difference between the turbo & non-turbo MT's was the turbo MT's used the pull style clutch setup and had a different final drive ratio. There's no real "documented" info that suggests the turbo MT's were stronger.
