5 speed swap quick questions

Post by Jmccoin92ss »

i have a 92 legacy turbo auto, 3rd and 4th are slipping.
i would like to swap to a 5 speed out of a 1997 Outback or a forester. is this possible?
i have the whole car to take anything needed. would there be any electrical issues with it being a manual trans, like the TCU issues you run into with the auto swaps?

thanks for the help.

You can use that tranny. You'll also need the rear diff and a bunch of other parts. The electrical part of the swap is very straight forward. Check out Josh's write-up in the sticky compilation thread. There's no better resource for it.
