So today I installed my wrx seats and to my wonder the are not to high i am a 6'3 guy and i have the hight level all the way down and i still have a lot of head room, and i know there has been a few people sawing they sit to tall but i dont see how unless there 7 feet tall lol.

But since i still have the manual belts in they dont really get stuck anywhere and i plan on doing a harness add to help with sitting nice and tight when driving them.

and im also just thinking of removing the buckle off of the seat cause you can see how it sorta holds it..

Yeah I don't think the WRX seats are too bad either....so it may just be a preference thing....

I'm 5'11" and I have maybe 2" of head room, I hit my head on I5 on a couple of the bumps.

It's not bad, but I definitely want it lower.

the 04-05 seats sit alot higher then the stock ones, and higher then the 02-03. i have 04-05 seats and i want ones that sit lower.

cool!! do they bolt right in? i always liked the bugeye wrx seats alot. ive had 3 cars that came with them.

yes they bolt right in the rears dont sit flush with the back where the speakers are but oh well lol

at 6'1 I consider them too high.

I need the seat to be lower and the steering wheel closer.

Mike is right. The 04+ sit higher.

I probably have the 04+, they're from a TR, don't know what years those came. With a helmet on I have to hunch down in the seat a little bit...

Honestly the stock seats are too high to me, but I'll take a little height for the support of these seats.

i think 08 sti seats are what im going to try next

fwiw you can swap the seat bases for the lower height older impreza bases 93-01
I swapped some old bases onto a set of legacy seats to lower the height of them.

This doesn't work for the WRX 02+ seats the bases are taller and have a different bolt pattern for the seat but they fit the floor pan.

You can't swap the bases on the newer WRX/STi seats. I looked at doing that, and the side part of the seat is part of the base.....it just didn't seem like it could be done without cutting/modifying the seat.

i removed the covers first then removed all the bolts etc... its not for the faint of heart and you need some tools to reattach the upholstry clips. I'll see if I have some pics of the process still

I have 02 WRx seats in my 85 subaru hatchie, and they are about right with the driver in lowest position. anything raised and it is too high, i am 6ft tall.

ive made mods to the rails of the 08+ seats to bolt them into the older cars, they fit perfect afterwards and it wasnt that hard

here is mine just had to slot the outer hole front.
and drill a new hole for rear inner. and make a small bracket for rear outer.

the seat rails on my wrx seats seem to bolt on the same as the stock ss seats.
they do sit a bit too high and i'm only 5'8" i do have headroom left just not enough i prefer the low riding 'gangsta lean'

They definitely sit too high. 5'11" and my hair touches the roof. I once sat in my passenger seat and it doesn't have the height adjustment and it sits even higher. I hate how high the seats are. Florin just needs to trade me his 04 WRX seats with cut and welded rails or sell them to me on the cheap.

One thing to keep in mind in this discussion is that if your car has a sunroof you'll have about an inch and a half less headroom to start with than if your car has a solid roof.

Oh yeah I totally have a sunroof and often fantasize about not having one. I like it in the summer time a lot but that's it. Summers here are about a month and a half long so I'd rather not have it and it leaks even after cleaning out all 4 drain hoses.
