Starter solenoid rebuild. CAUTION: AT and MT are different

Post by 91Beater »

When you purchase the kit, make sure you work with your vendor so that you're getting the correct kit so you don't end up having to pull the starter twice.

The plunger's shaft is different in length for automatic and manual.

Manual one is longer.
Automatic one is shorter.

eBay seller sent me the wrong one and I found out after I had everything apart :x

If in doubt, don't buy the kit. Just buy contacts. Resurface the contact disc on the old plunger and reuse it.
