Tire sizing on new (to me) wheels

Post by Boisesubaru »

So I picked some rims off a subaru legacy in the old wrecking yard yesterday. They need new tires but are in great shape. They look as though they were originally off a 1998 or so subaru outback. But I'm not for sure on that.

They look like these. (although the ones I purchased are silver on the front, and in the "holes" are gold)

Identical to these: http://www.google.com/imgres?start=97&u ... s:100,i:19

They are currently running 215/60/r15's I'm curious if there are other tire sizes that we could run, that are maybe a lower profile (not as tall) as they almost hit the strut. The tires on them are trashed and need replaced.

Any help would be great!

Yeah, you should be able to run other tire sizes.

Put in your old tire size and then put in the new rim size and play with the tire size to try and keep you overall tire diameter similar or the same.
