front brake grinding into the rotor?

Post by dafrompa »

a day or two ago i notice a wide sound coming from my drive side front brakes and all so saw my rotor getting really stracked up their new rotors and brake that i put on almost a year ago. i don't know what could throw the caliper off balance. i replaced retaining clips and still nothing changed.

You'd feel it if it was warped. Heavy vibration under braking.

Could bad ball joint make my wheel push to the outside. The side of my rotor that is damaged is the outside rotor the inside looks untouched.

Also may want to look at the wheel bearing.

I seconded the wheel Bearing, just changed one. It actually broke the caliper bracket it was so bad.

Hopefully the bearing isn't junk now. Did you stake the nut so it couldn't back off this time?

That's in the proper torque range, 123 - 152 ft-lbs.
