2nd Gen Legacy/Outback door panels in 1st Gen Legacy?

Hey guys! New to this forum, but not to Subaru. I just picked up my 3rd the other day and I've begun work on it.
My question today is about the door panels. I know the seats will fit from the '95-'99 Legacy chassis, but how far apart are the door panels? They look like they would attach in a similar manner, but its hard to tell without actually trying.
The interior in this legacy is disgusting from sitting for a long time with a leaky windshield (mold) And so I've just gutted everything but the dash which a good scrubbing with lysol wipes fixed. Now I'm looking to replace everything else. Ideally I'd like to grab the interior from a 2nd gen GT or maybe even an Outback with the cushy leather seats
I'd love to be able to pop in door panels and such from another 1st gen, but in my area they are few and far between these days whereas 2nd gens rule the foreign sections of the boneyards...
Any help is greatly appreciated!
