I can't believe I've never noticed this before until today . What is this for? S-shaped Allen wrench stored on under side of center console door.

Sunroof manual operation. There's a plastic plug in the back of your headliner that you remove which gives access to a hole to insert the allen wrench in to hand crank your sunroof should it die on you.

I believe its also used to move non functioning seatbelts, hence its inclusion on all first gens.

Also for the auto seat belts, the access is located on the center pilar an inch from the bottom.

Haha good point. I did however with my last two cars but before this one I didn't have a sunroof and therefore didn't even know about the allen wrench or I saw it and wondered what it was for but never knew.

Never read it before. I've never read any owners manual unless I was working on someone else's car and didn't have a shop manual for it and needed an oil quantity or something like that. Maybe I'll read mine some day.

I have an 1st gen Legacy with the sunroof and i dont have that allen in the glovebox

Hit up the junkyard for one.
