4eat trans linkage issue

Post by 6inarow »

So about two weeks ago, I replaced the trans in my 93 bj, and all went well until it came to the linkage for the trans. I haven't touched the linkage in any way before removal and install and now the linkage won't attach properly, and the selector on the dash is showing the right gear but in the shift console it shows the gear above the previous( put it into D on selector and shows N on dash). This is also causing me to not be able to place the car into park.

Now I have tried lengthening the linkage to try and fix the issue, but I'm wondering that this 4eat may be from a 94 or something different. I'm also thinking that I need to get linkage from a Subaru of same year?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Lol my friend is having the exact same problem in his 93 tw! You just gotta get it on the right gear before you install the linkage, there's two adjustment nuts as well but idk how to properly adjust them

I would try manually moving the inhibitor switch and lever under the car all the way to either park or 1st and then adjust the cable appropriately.
