Um so I did something very dumb and I'm aware of it. I tried tightening all my tranny mount bolts with an impact gun...
So now one of the bolts is dangling in it's hole and it won't tighten or loosen, it just spins. This is the driver side bolt of the long brace that are 17mm's I think. It's the two biggest bolts, one one each side. This is a 5mt on my 92 legacy ss.
Now my tranny bounces and knocks against my car and it's making my cv axles click too and is wearing my tires down AND it makes the whole car shake when I let off the gas and ride the engine down to a stop lol.
So I am wondering how I should go about fixing this. I'm thinking there was a welded down nut on the other side and the impact gun broke the welds and I need to re-weld that nut somehow. Is this correct or is it setup way different? Any thoughts on how I should go about fixing this thing would be awesome, thanks.

Re: Half attached tranny mount...
The nut is welded to the frame. I had a similar issue back in 2005 with my 91 wagon. Broke a welded nut loose on the frame, but not with an air impact. It was for the aluminum piece the control arm bolts into. What I ended up doing to fix the problem is on the frame close to the hole I used a dremel and cutting wheel and cut a square hole big enough to get a closed end wrench in to tighten the bolt down. Although inconvenient, If it's a bolt that you're not going to be removing and torquing down a lot, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I know the bolt I worked on is fairly easy to access, but That 17mm bolt, do you think you can find a spot under the carpet to cut out and weld it?

Yea I just don't know where that nut would be located. I'm thinking cutting the floor pan is my only option, crap.... Anyone know if I can access that nut without cutting things?

DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR without that properly tightened down.
You'll have to cut a small hole, that's the only way I can think of to get to that bolt. I'm assuming you're talking about the transmission crossmember not the transmission mount?
The other thing to keep in mind is that if you crossthreaded that bolt, then you'll need to cut that bolt so you can get it out and a new nut in.
