Squeaking, rubber noise ???

Post by robertpaige »

I just developed this squeaking noise, only when the wheel turns. I checked the wheel and nothing is touching around it. It goes squeak-squeak-squeak, and gets works when I turn and goes squeaaaaaaaaak. Lol

It just developed, and I don't see anything rubbing. it isn't a metal sound, it's definitely like rubber. I'm thinking like a axel or cv joint maybe? any guesses? I can try to take some video of it later. it's annoying.

Yeah positive. If I just barely move the car. The creaking just barely creaks. It sounds like something rubber. Like a boot. But when the car is up in the air I don't see anything, and I don't hear anything when I move the wheel. :/

Boots look fine, nothing torn. Noise is horrible today and worse than before. I'm really not sure where this noise is coming from. Seriously embarrassing.

Could you happen to take a video or sound clip of it?

If you creep along slowly in a parking lot does it make the noise? Have someone drive the car while you walk along side the car to see if you can pin point where the noise is coming from.

I'm almost positive it's a wheel bearing. Only happens when load is on the car, and there is a little bit of play in the wheel. So I will replace the bearing and report back.
