So i just got done swapping interiors to black and i picked up a 2nd gen black steering wheel. I know the airbag plugs wont match so how do you take the clock spring off of a 2nd gen? Will it plug and play with my first gen or will i have to mess with wiring?

I don't have any experience with swapping the clock springs, but hopefully someone else will be able to help.

looks like I have this issue. I just did my 82 Yota P-U but this is a lot more complicated. I am thinking of taking apart a junk-yard car first if I can't find any info

To the original poster, I just added the variable intermittent wiper stalk and have some pictures of the first gen Impreza clock spring (which should be same/similar to second gen Legacy). Not sure if they'll help, but here's the link.

from my experience if you get a clock spring from the newer car too you can re-pin the plug using the one for your car and it will work except for the airbag. I've modified a few newer momo wheels to work with the cruise control etc.
