Dashlights out!

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't find an answer anywhere.
I installed a new stereo deck and hooked up my lighting for my boost gauge, which in turn killed my dashlights and cigarette lighter.
I read that they're on the same circuit as the climate controls, but all of those have illumination behind them. All my fuses are fine.
Any ideas?

Illumination control module is under the dash just right of HVAC controller. I need to replace mine also, if I tap my dash right where the controller is,it comes back on.

I'm just about to put in the icu I got. It's from a 2nd gen as there was no first gen there but I'll see if it works still.

Just a note when hooking up your boost gauge lighting for illumination. The illumination circuit has a separate ground through the control module. So you must hook up both wires from the boost gauge lighting to the positive & negative going to the control module.
If you hook up the negative lead from the lighting to ground, it'll likely fry the control module.

I'm gonna try track down a first gen ICU this weekend. They're pretty rare in Canada but I've found a guy who's possibly parting out his wagon. (I want his TBE hehehe)
I learned today that canada was one of the only places with flatroof wagons, so I fell in love with those and now I want one...

Hello,
I thinking I am having a similar problem on my car.
Dash lights will be on, drive for a bit and then without doing anything the entire dash will go out, but if I turn off my lights and turn them back on it will stay on and continue to go out intermittently.
Fuses look ok, and the lights always come back on when I switch them off and on again.
First are we talking about the Illumination Control Unit (ICU)?
A.) What is that?
B.) Where is that? (pics would be helpful)
C.) How do I replace it?
Thanks guys!
OK I found the diagram showing where it is on the passenger side facing the center console next to the glove box.
Do I need to take the glove box out or is it right there?

You need to pull the glove box out but it's like 2 screws man. It's very simple, i pulled mine out with no issue.

Scrap yards will sell them for $3. They think they're just relays.

It's an actual control unit rather than just some relays.
