Universal Fan wiring

Post by Baddog »

Running a dual core WRX radiator for my turbo swap in a 95 Legacy. Fans don't match up and would stick out too far.

I have figured out how to mount to slim fans, however I am curious on the best way to wire them up. They don't come with a thermoprobe. Is there a way to wire them up like the factory fans?

I know you may not want to hear this, but I wouldn't recommend running the slim fans. They typically don't have any ducting and don't do as good a job of pulling air through the radiator.

You can run a dual core radiator from a 96-97 Legacy GT in your 95 and get the extra cooling capacity with proper fitment. Check out the thread below for more info. However, I will say that you can run the stock radiator without any issues. I ran my stock non-turbo radiator when I installed my turbo engine. I just added the appropriate amount of water wetter to help heat transfer properties and never had any issues before upgrading to the dual core radiator.
