I've got a J-Spec A/W intercooler and i really want to put this thing
on, but it's looking to be much more painful than i hoped.

First, it's pretty big and not even close to bolt-in. The front left
attachment bung pokes right into the coolant reservoir. I'm going to
have to hack this off or something.

Second, that damned AC line! It almost looks like the AC line is
supposed to run through the intake tract of the IC. I'd rather not
disconnect the AC line to clear this, but it's not even close. I
know Bill bent his, but how, and where? I think subaruracer had one
of these hooked up at one time, how'd you get past this?

Third, the outlet from the turbo and the up-pipe are a good measure
apart. I'm probably going to have to find a reducer pipe as well,
since the outlet of the turbo is a bit smaller than the inlet of the
pipe.

Fourth...I can't think of anything more, but i have already purchased
a radiator too. Glad i haven't bought a pump yet, or else i'd be out
even more money if i can ever get this thing to work.

Oh, and you guys who have these stock, where does the AC line run?

Amen Dave!

I am strugging with the same thing. I tried just last night to
figure out how to put this thing in, but all of what you mentioned
came up. It has been done before, but I did not think it would be
this hard.
I just want to get the intercooler installed and worry about moving
the water around later.
Did you get your's from Outback? I did.

If you find out how to do this, let me know!

Thanks,
Dave

Yeah, i got this from Outback Motorsports.

I've got everything cleaned up after a few hours of scrubbing, though
the inside will probably stay dirty as i haven't the facilities to
clean it out, and i'm not going to pour gas all over myself...

My sister-in-law's family has a business that deals with a lot of
aluminum, so i went by and used a band saw to hack off the better
part of the lower two mounts, then used a grinder to make the bottom
edge as flush as i could with the IC body.

Bill C and i have been exchanging emails about his experiences with
installing his Ford IC. He says he stuffed the AC line under
the "dog-bone" engine mount on the back. Seems like it's flexible
enough. Besides the igniter, that's the only real big holdup.

I'm taking pics of what i'm doing, and i'll let you know if i get any
farther tonight.
