Marks DNF?
Yes, I have been waiting for Ken to write the PR but here goes...
The car was amazingly fast even with the 32mm restrictor! We started off
stage 1 and the car after a 4 sec hesitation took off like a rocket.
Everything was fine up to about 6km in. We pulled the fastest speed up hill
in doing about 30km/h faster then the eventual winner. After the second
hairpin the car had NO power at all. We could attain maybe 50km/h through a
tight section. Shortly before spectator (8km mark) the car regained power
allowing me to set up a perfect turn at spectator (crest halfway thu
corner, off camber after crest). We got about 10km in and we lost our
odometer, we were running blind. I told ken to switch to 2nd sensor but by
then we were lost in the book. about 12 km we were approaching a quick left
over crest and just as I approached the corner, Ken said "tightens!!!"
too late....
Over crest, I kept my foot in it as to try and pull thru as I felt the back
end come around...
Missed the really big ditch, hit the little ditch, swung the car around and
into a field. Not bad you say?? There was 2 ruts from a truck which we hit
about 80 or 100km/h which ripped the rear suspension off.
DNF... First for RRUN racing.
Oh well, nothing money cant fix. Anybody know a good frame shop in
Vancouver area??? its bent.
My friend is going to do the video capture this weekend for me. This is one
for the website for sure.
