engine temp sensor?

Post by firetire@hotmail.com »

Rod,
I don´t know if i am right, but the ecu system check is in case that
the lamp goes on anytime, in my car never lights on, at least when
the engine is running, I think that some sensor is sending a wrong
reading when the engine is warming up and the ecu don´t detect this
like a fail.

Regards,

Christian

engine temp sensor?

Christian,
even if the light does not come on it will store any probable faults,
intermitent faults etc that have occured. This may give you an indication on
where the problem may lay.
Check it and see what codes you turn up. If there are a few fault codes
displayed, due to the fact the ecu's memory hasn't been cleared for a long
period of time, clear its memory, wait for the fault to happen again and
then re-check it.
