Now i'm serious....4EAT to MT swap - 4EAT argument

"Legacycentral" Dave is serious about considering a 4EAT to MT swap depending...
He's got a list of pros and cons
He's asking for inuts
I'll take the 4EAT side since that's probably the minority, and like the lawyers that get the obviously guilty off say, "everybody's entitled to a good defense".
So, here's what i get better in the swap:
Gas mileage.
Torque distribution.
Limited Slip.
The rest of that power the slushbox just can't transfer.
>>> JMO Transmissions close to me in Fullerton, CA will rework your torque converter to give you better gas mileage and power transfer <<<
>>> You can get a LSD for auto or stick <<<
>>> Torque distribution can be varied with Trans Control Unit modification, JMO again, and others <<<
Flocks of women who dig 5MT turbo wagons (uh...)
>>> True, but only the really good looking hot one's will force themselves on you with an ass kicking 4EAT wagon <<<
A weight savings of 50-100lbs (think of all that fluid)
Better car control on course.
>>> you have to be a hell of a driver to out control a hooked up auto with a manual <<<
What i lose:
Put it in Drive or 3 and go.
One hand in the pocket, one on the wheel on the cooooooold days.
Put it in Drive or 3 and go.
The relative simplicity of the swapover.
>>> All of the above and more <<<
For roughly the same price as rebuilding or replacing my 4EAT, i get
a number of really nice benefits.
>>> those benes are just a fleeting illusion, everything is relative, see my summation below <<<
Now i think i have to decide between 3.9 and 4.1 gears. Acceleration
vs mileage and top speed. I'm leaning towards the prior.
>>> And in summation; no doubt about it, acceleration's cool, and right off the stoplight is where you'll most often probably see the benefit of whatever you do, and if you're rarely on the freeway yes do it. But if you're mostly on the freeway, giving up the mileage for a few seconds once in a while may not be the ticket. Likewise, apart from all my objections and defensive strategy, unless you plan to live at the track more than back and forth to work, sacrificing the convenience of your daily driver for the sake of a few secondsnow and then, when there's always a bigger fish out there waiting on you, can be a never ending battle. Get a hotrod automatic and have the best of both worlds. I rest my case. <<<
