i have wondered about my sunroof ever since i bought the car 6 months ago. the sounroof works perfectly about 40-50% of the time, and at the moment is stuck open. anybody had similar problems? any ideas?
Thanks, Teague

Did you ever find a solution? I suspect it is a limit switch problem, but my solution in sub-tropical Australia is to leave it shut and set the climate control @ 22. My car is a 1990 Legacy GT (Jap spec)

no i have'nt solved it yet, though it has worked a bit more lately. limit switch? could this thing have somesort of sensor that knows what temp it is cuz it is warming up a bit. its a very strange problem.

sunroof quirks

hey teaguespeed thats a common problem, just take some time cleaning it very well ie the tracks and all visible parts and remove that useless alluminum pc that pops up. that was causing problems with mine and the easiest solution is to just take it off. lubricate the runners and rubber seals as they tend to dry out on our oldsunbaked legacys. sometimes that switch might need some electrical gremlin spray/cleanup. and dont forget to clean out those drain lines, i dont know how many times that sunroof peed on the passenger before i realized the previous owner never cleaned them out

i've done the switch on my previous crx, all you gotta do is take it apart, alot of the time electrodes get black crap on them, all you need to do is get a piece of sandpaper, or nail file and scratch it off...
