Not sure if anyone has had time to completely read that SAE article on the "Boxer" motor. It is just amazing. It goes into gory detail about the EJ22 motor, as well as the EJ20T motor. The EJ20T motor has dual intake runners to maintain volumetric efficiency. Also found out that all EJ22 motors are open deck, according to this article. The EJ20T motor is closed deck. I believe in 94-95 it was switched to an open deck casting process though. It has hp/torque curves for both motors. It actually has a fuel consumption vs. torque curve. I learned about this graph in a vehicle dynamics class in college. You want to shift at the middle of that curve....it's actually a 3-D curve...but you can't see it too well on that sheet. Anyway...it's a great article, definitely worth the read.

There's two other ones as well. 90 legacy press release for the Legacy, and a parts list for the 90-94 legacies, with exploded views, and subaru part numbers. Again, definitely worth the read.

Not sure if they're all on the BC-BF Legacyworks group files section. I have them all on my site in the Notes & Tips section under tech articles. www.surrealmirage.com/subaru/subaru.html

These are both in the Files section.

I scanned them in in PDF format, they're much easier to read
and you can zoom in too.

Knock yourself out!
