Hi all,

I've just joined the list, so here's a quick "hello" and some details.

I'm Toby, from Adelaide, Australia.

I've recently bought a '93 subaru Liberty RS wagon.
(Known as the Legacy in the US, i think? 2000cc turbo boxer engine, MAF/TPI,
AWD, etc)
It appears to be in totally stock form, right down to still having the
original tape deck unit. (That came out last night though, although i
haven't got the dash facia back on properly and need to shave some plastic
off the cdplayer front)

I previously owned a Holden Commodore (3.8L V6, RWD, MAP/TPI, with a 9psi
supercharger), and had got to know the engine computer on that thing pretty
well.. Even playing with the assembler level code, and writing my own
programs to interface with the computer and give you pretty dials and gauges
on a laptop ;)

I was hoping to find out some info about the Subaru ECU and do the same, or
help with any existing projects.
Is anyone here working on such things already?


In the meantime, I'll go and browse the archives for a while. I've heard
conflicting reports about the best exhausts to use from people i've talked
to.. some say 3", while some say a 2.5" mandrel-bent exhaust will produce
a better overall result. I'm a coder, not an exhaust specialist - i've got
no idea!
