Snorkus Removal and ECU reset

Post by Grant Hughes »

I've been meaning to do this for a few weeks now but
have always gotten a combination of cold and running
out of time to accomplish it. I found a thread on the
i-club web site with detailed instructions on how to
remove the snorkus on an impreza and it sounded
exactly the same as on my legacy. The one thing that
it said to do, that I wasn't sure about and why I
haven't got mine out yet was that they said the ECU
had to be reset. Anyone know if this is correct.
Their method of doing this was to unplug battery for
30-60 minutes (hence running out of time) the hook it
back up, start car and let it run until the engine
fully warms up being very careful never to touch the
accellerator pedal then turn off the car. It had now
been reset and was ready to drive. You might try this
when you get a little extra time that you aren't going
anywhere and see if it helps with your lag problem.
