Doesn't seem to be much interest here. I posted some pics on the LegacyGT site:

Help: Sticky parking e-brake cable

I noticed that the rears were sqeeking while in reverse so I took off the tires and I noticed that the driver's side parking brake / e-brake wasn't releasing. Even after pulling on it with a pair of pliers it took a hard yank to get the cable to let go. This is down by the wheel. I couldn't find any...

where to buy a short pipe

I need to replace the stock muffler with a new one. Most of the people here like the Magnaflow for a balance between performance and price. Since there is no bolt-on applictation, I was thinking that I could buy the muffler itself and the short pipe going from the end of the mid-pipe to the (new) mu...

...also, if there isn't a whole piece. Does anyone know if the short pipe form the end of the mid-section to the muffler can be purchased separately? I'm thinking if I can get the muffler and that short section, I can make it work.

Thanks again,
Brian

Thanks for the suggestions guys. The probelm wound up being a dead fuel-pump. I had my car towed to my mechanic who asked if I wanted to replace it with a Lappen's fuel pump. I was tired of not driving my car for over a week so I told him to go ahead and replace it with a generic. It was a good thin...

ok, I'm back. And now I'm really in the market for a muffler. I'd prefer a bolt-on pieve from the rear axle back. I know the WRX one would have to be modded. Several people here have suggested Magnaflow. Do they have one which would be a bolt-on? Any suggestions for where I can order one? -Brian

OK, I went to the dealer and picked up a relay ($35). That sucker is a real pain to get to. It took me over a half an hour to find it. I had to take the bottom of the dash off and even then had to twist my arm to even touch it. After another hour I finally got it into a position where I could take t...

vrg - the Check Engine light looks good. In fact, all my lights and guages seem to be fine: oil, fuel, temp, headlamps etc. scott - I didn't try fuel in the cyl. When there was no fuel pumping from the filter I didn't think there was any point. If I do that will it bring in more fuel? If I do upgrad...

Thanks for the suggestions. After reading the responses and some other posts I went back to the car tonight. I turned the ignition to the on position and I didn't hear anything. Maybe there was too much traffic noise but, nothing was making any noise when I turned the ignition to "on". The...

Car refuses to start - Help!

My car has been running fine. On the first nice day in months I went out to a local diner. I came back to the car and started and *immediately* shut it off. We were deciding where we were gonna go next and I didn't want to sit there with the engine idling. After 5 minutes we were ready and I tried t...

new muffler

I am actually now in the market for a new muffler myself. The combination of 14+ years and one high curb. DOH! :( has created a large hole around the exhaust tip. I tried closing it up with tube "muffler sealant" and it worked for about a month but then the seal shrank and cracked and now ...

Recent places

The radiator on my turbo had the smallest crack in the (upper hose side) plastic tank. I tried 3 times to JB Weld with no success so I went shopping for a radiator. There were no recent links to online retailers so I had to do the walking myself. Factory price was about $330. Of the online places I ...

The only place I know of to fill the coolant is from the turbo coolant tank. Is that the "radiator cap" you guys are speaking of? Do I really need to buy a new one? What's this "burping" you guys are talking about? If I open the plug at the bottom of the radiator, doesn't all of ...

22433AA230??

FWIW: The part number on my current coil pack is 22433AA230. I tested it last night and the resistance across the termainals (1-2, 3-4) is 14.7. :? Does anyone know if that's normal for this pack? I checked the 22433AA360 and it shows 13.7, so I'm guessing that's fine. But when I checked the connect...

Which one is good-er?

My car is idling rough (again) :( and accelerating rough as well. I replaced the plugs, wires, and fuel filter just a few weeks ago. It ran fine for a while and then my radiator hose blew fluid over everything. Replaced that and now it's running rough again. My local Suby mechanic suggested that I r...

Thanks for the advice QD. I guess that might be some of the reason why my belly is getting bigger. :) The truck cable and lever are working correctly. I can hear the little latch go "click" in the back when I pull it. It's definitely a combination of old trunk springs and the foam gasket s...

Sedan Trunk Lid Woes

The ole' trunk doesn't pop up like it used to. Instead it stays closed no matter how many times I pull the trunk release lever and I have to stop the engine, get out and open the darn thing myself. I think it's a combination of old springs and the foam gasket is sticking to the trunk lid. Does anyon...

Advice - Flushing and/or Refilling coolant

It's been over a year since I had my coolant changed (probably closer to over 2 years). I've changed coolant on my old '78 Buick back in the day 8) and I'm assuming that it's pretty similar. The only difference I know is that the Legacy doesn't have a radiator cap on the radiator itself. The only pl...

Thanks for the ECU test mode info vrg. Yes, it was a big hose. Does the blow off value also have another hose that goes back to the air inlet ductwork? It connects to the big elbow after the resonator box (I hope I'm naming it right). Is this the blow off value? http://www.legacycentral.org/images/m...
