I was in at the dealer and he said the rack from a 2.5 RS wouldn't work. I don't necessarily believe him though. I priced a dealer rack for my car and it was $1700 List. I have had no power steering for months now. It's giving me a major workout everyday. I just want to know what rack I can use to r...

Okay, I broke down and called Metra for help. They asked me if any of my speakers were blown. Both rears are blown (which I didn't actually notice at first, but still wouldn't have suspected them.) The tach support guy told me (after some time on hold of course) that I should just unplug the blown s...

Thanks for the tip, I'll drain it on Sunday. Now, does anyone know if the power steering lines are still available. This all started with a blown line. If I can get the lines as a bolt in I will have no problem sticking to the power steering but if not I'd rather not have to fab up my own lines sinc...

Yeah, I'd like to see if I could get a manual rack out of something. I have no power steering (looped manual rack and my lazy ass still hasn't gotten around to getting a shorter belt to bypass the pump). The car is almost impossible to park, I'm positive just a manual rack would be a huge improvemen...

BC-BF without power steering?
Does anyone know of a legacy w/o power steering or any manual rack I could use in my Legacy? I'm considering going to manual steering but this car is too hard to steer with no power steering with the power rack.

It's funny, I tried the same ground that you just mentioned and I still get no sound. This is the weirdest problem I've ever come across. I tried grounding it to the steering column, the bracket and other odds and ends under the dash it the deck still has no output. I even tried hooking it up to the...

I figured it out thanks for all your help. I actually feel kinda stupid but after reading over your replies I realized that I did everything right except I half assed the ground. I grounded it to the bracket behind the dash. I hooked the ground wire around my key instead and Voila! sound. It was lat...

Well, I've triple checked the wiring. ONly conclusion I can come to is that the harness is wrong. Are all of the head unit plugs the same from 89-94? I have a Metra Harness and I've wired it up. I've installed many decks including one in a Lexus where I've had to bypass the factory amp and they've a...

Well the stereo powers up fine but I don't get any sound. I put the stock deck back in for now so I can have radio. I'm not sure what is wrong because I installed the deck into my CRX and it works fine. It just doesn't work in the Legacy. This is very strange. So, I know the deck output is working, ...

CD Player install
Just wondering if anyone has encountered my problem. I am installing a Kenwood CD player using a Metra harness I don't get any sound from the speakers. Is there a factory amp somewhere that I have to bypass. I searched but I couldn't find anything. I guess I will have to go until tomorrow without CD...

Power Steering
I've had no power steering for 2 weeks now and I want it back. I don't know where I can get the parts (haven't tried the dealer yet but I'm trying to avoid them.) I have some rusty lines and this is causing the problem. The fittings are also very rusty going to the rack. Has anyone else encountered ...

Thanks, I'll try that. It's weird that it never did this before but the car sat for 10 days. I guess that could have caused the problem. I'm not sure of what type of oil was used, should I try to find out if it was synthetic? I'm considering synthetic but the car has so many miles I think it may not...

Would it be dangerous to find an additive to quiet the noise and just drive it? As I said the car has high mileage and I'd just like to do maintenance to get as much out of it as is. In your opinion would servicing the valve lash adjusters be a big job to tackle? I'm fairly mechanically inclined (Me...

Valve train clatter
First of all I'm new and although haven't really driven my car much I'm already in love with it. I'm getting valve clatter from the right head and I'm worried that there is a problem. Is this normal? I searched and I saw that this happens some times. If the problem persists what should I do to remed...
