Does all the neutral switch do is change the idle speed when in gear, or are there other changes. I'm using a VW transmission and am having trouble thinking of a way to hook up a switch as described (other than a toggle switch on the dash).

My motor came out of an automatic transmition car; does this affect what the neutral ecu pinout does? Also, the car my motor is in does not have a clutch switch (it is a '73). Am I correct in assuming that the inhibitor switch only affects the starter relay? When I tried to start the car today the ...

park/neutral switch
I was under the inpression that the park and neutral switches only effected the inhibiter switch (which does not let the car start). In my swap I did not use the inhibiter switch, my starter is wired right to the ignition switch. With that in mind, should either the park or neutral swtich effect ...

OK, I think I figured it out....please correct me if I'm wrong. The Subaru pressure exchange solenoid does the same thing that the Baro-Read solenoid on the chrysler MAP does. Basically all it does is switch between which pressure the MAP sensor is reading (MAP or Barometric). This still leaves me ...

wow...I must be slightly retarted, ignition relay does not equal ignitor  . I still wish there was a good way to figure out what certain wires do rather than just what the plug into. Such as what are the two yellow wires comming out of the ignition relay (are they just ignition swtiches that ...

For the record, the 6th wire going to the ignitor is an ignition switch. I've been trying to sort through this wiring mess for the a couple of days now and and still pretty confused. Vikash's ecu pin out digram has been very usefull as well as Josh's (Legacy777) scanned factory manual, but is the ...

To be honest, I have no idea what year it was (late 80's-early90's) I was just looking to see that it had the barometric sensor dellie, which it did, and even still had the foam filter on it. I also know nothing about Chrysler products (I have never been a fan).

different ignitor?
I hit up the junkyard for some parts for my '93 turbo motor over the weekend. One of the things I was missing was the ignitor. I assumed that the N/A and turbo ignitors would be the same, so I grabbed the one that looked in the best shape. When I got it home I realized that the one I grabbed only ...

BTW, do you know of any stock turbo cars that just use a MAF sensor? You mentioned DSMs, however, there are still fuel cut defencer applications for DSMs, which would automatically point to a MAP sensor being used.

Thanks for the info. That is inteseting that it uses both MAP and MAF for fuel, all cars that I have delt with in the past uses one or the other. I do plan on going with a stand alone in the future (along with bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors, etc.), but I don't have the money for that right now ...

Thawa,
I guess I didn't read you post correctly, and yes I know that the MAP or MAF isn't dirrectly controlling fuel or spark. It is just one of the variables (TPS, RPM, etc.) that the ecu uses to control both fuel and igniton timing. If the MAP is only used to control boost, then why can't you just ...
