Re: Wooo! SNOW!!!!

First: RE92's suck in the snow. Second: This is my first time in the snow with Lauren. Let me tell you guys something. She's as fun in the snow, as she is in the dry. It's the exact opposite spectrum of traction. That reminds me of last year when I took the legacy out. Got up at 5:00am just to play...

I can vouch for the 90-91 headlights sucking big ones.

There's an electronics store (non-Radio Shack) that has Bosch auto relays. I would look around in the yellow pages to find a similar store in your area.

Or you could go to the autoparts store. They usually sell some relays...

So how does one reground the antenna, assuming that's the problem?

I'll try the jumper cable idea tomorrow.

If you wire them the way Daniel Stern suggests, they will blink in phase with the turn signals when the parking lights are off, and 180 degrees out of phase when the parking lights are on. There's no simple way to make them blink in phase with the turn signals all the time except to wire them as tu...

So you're both considering it to be a grounding issue. Seems logical enough. I'll probably run a larger ground back to the radio directly from the battery, just to be safe.

Sidemarker turn signal mod.

I decided to do the turn signal mod for the sidemarkers listed on daniel stern's website but I was wondering whether there is a way to wire the sidemarkers to blink at the same time as the turn signals. Right now, they blink 180-degrees out of phase with the turn signals.

Radio interference when I turn on rear defroster.

Hey guys. Just started listening to the radio in my car this week (yeah, I don't listen to the radio too much) and noticed that when I turn on my rear defroster the radio signal gets REALLY weak. It's a rear mounted antenna (might be amplified, not sure) so I'm assuming the antenna's picking up inte...

Black, red, and green, I suppose?

My guess would be:
black=negative
red=switched power
green=front o2 sensor.

Just back track from the air box to the turbo, checking every vaccum line that runs to and from the engine. Make sure all of the connections are good and that there are no cracks in the hoses.

I would strongly suggest getting a different boost gauge. For one, the gauge might be off, judging by the description of the dial. And for two, I've known two people with Autometer boost gauges that were off by 2 psi! But, if you plan on using it, just buy the appropriate sized t-fitting from an aut...

.5bar? That's like 7-8psi, if I'm not mistaken. I was under the assumption the overseas legacy turbos ran more boost than that.... closer to 10psi.

If that's the case, check to make sure there are no boost leaks.

Hehe. I know what you mean... Having owned three legacys in the past, it did feel weird to change to a Toyota, however, taking into account that Toyota is one of the Big-3 Automakers these days, it seemed logical from an economical standpoint to go with that make. Plus, I don't know of any Subaru sp...

I used to run BKR7E-11s on my car. But I ended up having to use the BKR6E-11s because Autozone didn't have any of the BKR7E-11s in stock. After 5000-7000 miles they showned normal wear for the plugs. No unusual lean run condition or eroding of the electrodes. But that was at 16-18psi with your setup...

You can flow as much as you want until the air starts to reach the speed of sound. You just get more and more pressure drop as the restriction becomes more and more significant. When we talk about heads, this restriction manifests itself as a loss in volumetric efficiency. I'm curious as to why thi...

In most of European countries headlights must be turned on while driving car - ordered by law (day and night, all year) - the point is to make cars more visible (and believe me - they are - even in summer sun); so - we use what you call "city lights" only when car is parked in street (at ...
