Pesky roof rain gutters

I have looked around, but I'm goingto ask instead. As the owner of a 91 Subaru Legacy that has reached it's 18th birthday this April; the black rain gutters are going badly. I've come to a cross roads. I know that there was a thread that shows how to paint them but searches have turned up nothing. I...

Well I'm really late on this reply but here's the news: I have a head gasket leak, I'm burning coolant, and cylinder #4 is trkying to throw it's rod. The head gasket leak might explain the deeper exhaust tone. I'm just goig to drive it til' it drops. I don't feel good about not doing anything until ...

I thought of condensation too. If it matters I live in Reno, Nevada. Temps here have gone from the high being in the 70's to highs back in the mid 50's. The lows swing around like this too. I do have an aftermarket muffler and a big exhaust tip. I don't know the brand. The previous owner a friend ba...

Oh and the damage from the accident front bumper heavily scratched, hood slightly bent. And a cracked radiator. The radiator and the front bumper cover have been replaced. The rest were just rebended. And refitted. All fixed for free. I was not at fault. A silver Mitsubishi Eclipse turned left in fr...

White smoke clouds looks like engine issues

Coming back here feels like Cheers everyone's so nice no matter how long you're gone. Anways I digress... About a month ago I was involved in an accident that did some front end damage. Nothing too bad cosmeticaly. But now I am concerned that the force of the impact has done something somewhere. Abo...

I have thought about that. But If the Rally Armor flaps fit with just having to drill a hole or two (through the flap) to have them fit I'd much rather do that.

Rally Armor Mud Flaps

Just asking but I am highly interested in buying a set of Classic series Rally Armor mudflaps for my 91 Legacy. I've read that ones for a GC (first Gen Impreza) can fit with some modification. Does any one know about doing that?
Northern Nevada winters can diabolically harsh.

Carbon mirrors

Looking for a set of small carbon racing mirrors to replace the stock ones. Are there any off shelf that would fit a 91 Legacy?

What kind of front diff gear oil

Just asking but what kind of gear oil does the front differental of a 1991 Legacy L AWD A/T use?

I've poked Google, and another forum says to use 80W90 / GL5 Gear oil. Is that correct. I just need to know what I need.

Pad thickness: Fronts are at about 85%, rears at about 30%.

I was going to put some new 07 Impreza WRX brakes, or a set of Wilwoods, but that's another discussion.

The brakes were my initial thought. But all four discs check out. Pads are still good too. I thought axles as well, but no. And even the rear diff, but no to that as well. There has been a lot of construction on Rock Blvd (Sparks, NV) on the way to my g/f's house, but I doubt a rock would stay stuck...

That's what I'm betting on. Left rear. I wonder why just that one, but I'd rather not know at the moment. How hard is it to replace a rear wheel bearing? Google brought up about $55 avg. for the part. Now do I replace one, or both rear bearings? I'm taking it in for some checks and services this Sat...

Well there's news. I cleaned out the spaces between the rotors and the dust shields. No rocks found, no dust. But the grinding remains, but has become more of a squeal. also the sound sometimes happens elsewhere now at very low speeds and when I make right hand turns. Even not in reverse. So it's co...

Grinding noise in reverse

The advise here is great so I have another question. I own a 1991 Subaru Legacy 4WD, non turbo with an automatic trans from a 1990 Legacy. That swap was done prior to me being the owner. I have no idea when. Now there is a grinding noise coming from somewhere when I back out of my garage. I'm thinki...

Ok, I'll pull an OJ. Just saying hypothetically IF I can't find a junked first gen legacy with the radiator cooling plate, where could I order one or get one. Sans the local Subaru dealer. Google isn't helping much.

Not sure if it fits here. It's a cooling question though. So I have a bone stock 91 Legacy L with an EJ22 NA. Looking for a cooling plate. Any suggestions. Will one for an Impreza fit?

Well basically TEIN ststed that from their view it would be a safety hazard. Obviously they don't want to be responsible if something goes wrong. Now, they did give the option of having a complete custom set made by them; way more coin than I have. Currently I'm looking into HKS Hipermax struts and ...

Well TEIN finally got back to me and said that IF I installed one of their coilovers on my car; I'd void the warranty. Well, back to the drawing board. But back to looking at the following: TiC AST Zzyzx EM RCE T2 KW Variant 3 I have time though. Coilover fund was raided to be used for body repairs....

Well no word back from TEIN yet, but I have planty of time as other things have taken my coilover fund at the moment. But otherwise a set of TEIN TYPE FLEX Twin Tube types are going to be my decision. I even tried a look at DG-5, but that's for drift. Not saying that I'd convert my AWD to FR, but I ...

I'm using H&R coilovers and they work very well, which were for a 1st gen Impreza. They utilize Bilstein dampeners. If you want to be serious about time attack, figure out what kind of spring rates you are going to use(based on a number of things, namely what tires you plan on using), then have...

Looks like I'm going woth TEIN because of their setups and price. I looked at CUSCO, ZERO/SPORTS, HKS, GReddy, BLITZ, JIC Magic, and KW. It's either the Super Street with pillowball upper mounts or the Type Flex Twin Tube.

Thank You bery much for the reply. That's all and great. But I need coilovers, not shocks. Bigger and wider wheels and tires are needed for time attacking. Plus the link didn't tell me which ones fit.

TEIN setup on a 91 Legacy L?

I'd like to install a TEIN SuperStreet or a TEIN Type Flex kit for my 1991 Subaru Legacy L AWD Non-Turbo. But one is not specifically made for my car does anyone know which one made for an Impreza would fit my Legacy? I may lean toward the SuperStreet Type because of the price, but one is not listed...
