Preferred (on line) Vendors for Engine Parts
I'll be doing two 95 Legacy 1.8 water pump/timing belt replacements soon. Any recommendations for aftermarket parts vendors? I'm hoping to keep the costs reasonable. Are these parts that really should be purchased from Subaru?

Timing Belt change questions EJ22
I have a 95 Legacy with an EJ22 motor and am getting close to timing belt time. I've done this job on other makes but not on a Subaru yet. Any particulars or tips? What about crank and camshaft sprocket holders? Are these absolutely necessary and if so, anyone have a source for low priced ones? I'm ...

What best to build a 'sleeper' Legacy wagon (95)?
As the title suggests, I'm thinking of swapping a hot engine into my plain-jane 95 Legacy wagon. Any thoughts on what would be the best compromise between power and ease of install? I know it would most likely require the ECU from the donor car.

To change ATF or not? That is the Question...
My Dad has a 95 Legacy with AT and 137K miles and although it runs fine, he wants to get the ATF changed and a new strainer installed. The local Sube dealer is telling him that it isn't a good idea to change fluid on an old AT as it is likely to cause problems. I did some searching here and found on...

Keyless entry problems
My 95 Legacy wagon has a Subaru keyless entry system (dealer installed, I think) and I thought I was on the right track to get it working again. Poking around under the dash on the driver's side I found that 2 fuses were missing, one to power the keyless entry unit and the other appeared to be for t...

Oil Leak on EJ22 engine
My 95 Legacy wagon with 2.2 L and manual tranny has developed an oil leak on the top of the engine just below the power steering reservoir (passenger side front). I'm sure it isn't PS fluid (no red tint) but it isn't obvious where the oil is coming from. I did a search here and didn't find anything ...

Headlight connector melted
I have a 95 Legacy wagon which has halogen-style headlights (small bulb, not like sealed beam headlights). I noticed the driver's side light was out tonight, looked in there and found the plastic connector partially melted and the top spade terminal quite burnt looking. Also noticed the bulb was loo...

Keyless entry problem 95 Legacy
I know it's a 95 but maybe someone can point me in a direction for info on getting the keyless to work. The P.O. bought a new key fob after losing the original but couldn't get it to work. I tried replacing the battery, no luck. Any clues?

Well this may not be a fair comparison but here goes: My 95 Legacy wagon (5 speed) gets around 25 - 26 mpg for my mostly highway commute of 60 miles each way. This average is based on many trips and I'm usually going between 70 - 75 mph. The car has 146K miles and was well taken care of by the PO. W...
