bunch of stuff, flex's, blocks, heads, etc

I have decided that i will be better off building a car that was meant to be rwd for drifting rather than what I have been doing so my parts are going. I have for sale Tein Flex's for gc8/early leg etc - 1200 jdm early wrx heads - 300 sti pinks - 300 ej22t block decent shape - 600 ej22t heads decent...

 Yes, I realize I'd need to put the stubs in the hubs for the wheel bearing to ride on and to keep the wheels on. http://www.clubwrx.net/forums/showthread.php?t=27532&page=5 Scrolling down to the picture on this page, my diff is on the left. What is there to weld together? I may ver...

Breaks axles every time? that must suck, I have yet to break an axle and I have been running rwd w a "spooled" rear diff ( welded, more consistant for drifting ) for a year now and have yet to break anything. If I were breaking them that much I would either convert to sti rear diff/axles e...

those heads should be a 49cc chamber, I dont have time to do the math at this second but it would be in the mid 7's

well it really depends on where you had it tapped, but yes its a possibility. Put some zip ties on the "T" to keep the lines from comming loose.

did you check for boost leaks? look for a spot where your pressurized piping oculd have came off ( like at your IC ) if thats not the case I would look at your turbo. if all of a sudden you are not making boost, you either have a boost leak somewhere or your turbo went bad ( which probably isnt the ...

I agree, but as I will be in area's where off boost is of issue, and I want to have something with off boost grunt a little ( and it is my daily driver when the weather is not good enough to be on the bike ). I am concerned with moving the thing from a stop. Again , its just my preferance. Now I hav...

I am not saying it wont function, I personally think that c:r in the low 7's is too little ( for what I would do in my personal setup ) , unless you are building something that you are going to boost a ton, but off boost performance will suffer a bit.

problem is without actually cc THOSE heads, you dont really know what they are ( from my experiance so far , looking at the available charts havent been so accurate ) . I would be interested to see exactly what you have, and see what your car is really running for a compression ratio.

these pressures are close to most i have seen as well. subaru's run a lot of pressure once off of idle.

there is that ejspecs page, although I dont know how much to trust it,
I saw 28cc for the pistons and 40cc for the chamber.

I think the head gasket compressed is ~1.5 mm for the 2.2 gasket

I have sohc 22T heads on my shelf at home, if I get a chance tonite I will cc them.

best bet would be to CC the heads and find an accurate chamber size, seems there were quite a few. Once you have that you can do the calcs to figure out what it is you need to do . But yes, most likely you would end up with a very low comp ratio, while it would work, it would definitly be sub-optimal.

but do you know what heads you have? if you have a small combustion chamber head it will be much better than if you had the ones I had. I seriously doubt you have 57cc chambers.

also,

what gasket did you use?

would depend on the chamber volume, it could work if they are the smaller norm ( around 49cc ) and I still think that your comp ratio with stock gaskets will be too low. If you ran the thin gaskets it makes it better, but there isnt a good thin option for the 2.2 either.

Tien Flex's adapted from a GC8 , I love them, as low as I want it , with camber adj, and damping adjustment as well.
downside is the price, luckily I was able to get them at wholesale but stull not cheap.

Yea, I figure that my 1 cc vairiance could have been from a little carbon on the valves etc. considering I got that close consistantly I say 57's it is.

ok. sti block arias forged pistons @ 22 cc volume sti stock gasket @ .21 compressed deck clearance of -.254mm 20g heads @ 57cc volume std stroke/bore for 2.5 nets : compression ratio of 8.06/1 <- acceptable however if I chose to run the ej22t block unmodified I would end up with somewhere around 7.2...
